Hair and Beauty Tricks From Which Will Not Break the Bank
We’ve got six super awesome (no room for modesty here) beauty tips which won’t break the bank! Flawless beauty on a budget is absolutely achievable with our clever hair and beauty tricks.
Trick #1: Heat + Curl = Better Definition
Before you suffer through the prolonged process of expensive eyelash extensions, try a plastic eyelash curler which can be heated. For example, the Tweezerman Super Curl Eyelash Curler is designed to be heated by a hairdryer for a much more dramatic, defined curl.
Trick #2: Prevent the Panda
Eyeshadow fallout is a beauty fail. To prevent eyeshadow fallout, particularly when applying darker shades, try adding eyelash tint papers under your lower lash line. Eyelash tint papers can be held in place with a little eye cream, and are easily removed once you have completed your shadow application.
Trick #3: Every Last Drop
Two words: tube squeezer. A tube squeezer can be used to squeeze out every last bit of cream, toothpaste or any other product in a tube. A tint tube squeezer is your money conscious best friend, saving you money while ensuring no wasted product.
Trick #4: A Toothbrush Ain’t Just a Toothbrush
A toothbrush is more than just a tooth cleaner. In fact, the humble toothbrush is a staple in hair and beauty circles. Use a toothbrush to flatten flyaways for a sleek ‘do (simply spray with hairspray and then brush toothbrush over any misbehaving frizz). Use a toothbrush to de-clump eyelashes after applying mascara. A light scrub over chapped lips with a toothbrush will exfoliate. Try grooming your eyebrows with a light swipe of the toothbrush, as well as wiping away any flaky skin and excess foundation before applying brow defining products. Hot tip: buy a toothbrush multi-pack for all these toothbrush tricks!
Trick #5: Hairdryer Helper
If you lose more hair than the average bear while styling and your partner or flatmate is unimpressed by the bathroom floor, try this old hairdressing trick. Grab your hairdryer, flick to a low or cool setting and direct the airflow to the floor, blowing all loose hair to a corner. The hair is then easily swept or vacuumed up!
Trick #6: Get Creative with Bobby Pins
Fun and fashionable. Coloured bobby pins are all the rage, so why not colour your own bobby pins by painting them with nail polish? It’s a subtle but fun way to add interest to your ‘do.
