How To: Create a Loose, Textured Updo from Macadamia Natural Oil
We admire Jenna Dewan-Tatum’s style (and not just because she’s married to Channing Tatum!). Her 2013 Oscars hairstyle was a soft, romantic updo with a textured, retro feel. Celebrity stylist Bridget Brager styled Jenna’s hair using Macadamia Natural Oil products.
Brager explains that, “I wanted to emphasize clean texture”. Try Jenna’s updo yourself with Bridget Brager’s steps to recreating this Oscars look.
Products you’ll need:
- Macadamia Natural Oil No Tangle Pre-Styler
- Macadamia Natural Oil Luxurious Oil Treatment
- Hair dryer
- Curling iron
- Bobby pins
Step #1: Spray Macadamia Natural Oil No Tangle Pre-Styler on damp hair from the mid-shaft down. Brager then brushes the hair to be sure it’s tangle-free.
Step #2: Brager then uses a dime sized amount of the Macadamia Natural Oil Luxurious Oil Treatment to “protect against the hot tools and to quench the hair’s thirst”. Brager is a big fan of the Macadamia Natural Oil Luxurious Oil Treatment and says that applying a bit to your hair once a day “makes all the difference”.
Step #3: Roughly dry hair, bringing out natural texture.
Step #4: Once hair is dry, take 5cm sections of hair and wrap around your curling iron, pulling down on the hair to soften the wave.
Step #5: After hair is set, lightly twist the hair and pin it back at the nape.
Step #6: Take remaining hair and loosely braid, wrapping it into a loose knot and securing with hair pins.
Step #7: Finish with a light spritz of hairspray.
